QP Webinar Series: Leading through challenging times

14/09/2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

QP is hosting a webinar on Monday, 14 September 2020 at 10:00hours entitled Leading through Challenging Times with the participation of Hon. Minister Aaron Farrugia, Paul Milton from One Planet and Dr Gordon Cordina from E-cubed Consultants.

We would like to invite the Kamra tal-Periti and its members to actively participate in this webinar.

During the webinar, we will be looking at the lifestyle changes a COVID-19 lockdown has unilaterally imposed on individuals.   On the positive side, a better and improved environment was an emerging reality – reduction in road traffic clearly improved the air quality we breathe.    Which are those lifestyle changes we should adopt to ensure that we could maintain a sustainable future?

On the other hand, this is a challenging time for the Government, and us as business leaders, to ensure a healthy and speedy recovery of the economy.   One may argue that this works contrary to these lifestyle changes or can hinder their adoption in the first place.   Is Government intending to maintain  a balance on sustainability during this period of economic revival and retain focus on implementing and maintaining a sustainable circular economy?   In such challenging times, it would be understandable that all economic efforts are put into the revival of the economy and no priority is given to the past efforts in circular economy.

The accompanying topics on this webinar shall focus on tangible game changers for a sustainable built environment.  We shall explore what has already been applied in businesses which have showed robust improvements.  We shall understand how these may be further integrated through optimisation to support the globalization of our businesses.

We shall also be looking at the impact the pandemic may have on the built environment – or will this be a short-term ‘new normal’ which will sooner or later revert back to more of an ‘improved normal’.    It shall be interesting to theorise  on the anticipated changes to the built environment and the building fabric, itself, that may ultimately be the new face of global real estate.
